I am a London-based writer, analyst and photographer and spend most of my time covering the politics and economics of the Middle East, Africa and other emerging markets. I am editor of Gulf States News and a columnist for Forbes.com. I regularly write for other outlets including Bloomberg Businessweek, Euromoney and the Middle East Economic Digest and my articles have also appeared in The Diplomat, The Economist and Foreign Policy among others. I was previously Deputy Editor of the Middle East Economic Digest. My photos have appeared in The New Yorker, The Guardian, Der Spiegel and many other places.

I am a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). I also work with SOAS, part of the University of London, briefing senior diplomats, NGO executives and others on the politics and economics of the wider MENA region.

I also work with private sector clients including major global banks, asset managers and consultancy firms on their corporate communications.
